Body by Jade
Est 2021
With modern body positivity and garments from vintage showgirls, I created these paintings to show different body types in a luxurious portrayal.

Continuing my theme of rhinestone bikinis, I decided to explore gold gemstones on a green focal point. This art piece was created on a 24 by 12 inch canvas. I also think green looks good with gold.

Violet and pink acrylic paint. This piece was inspired from a baby shower event I attended in September. This was created on a 24 by 12 canvas.

This piece was inspired by Dominican fashion model Diana Veras. I used the artistry of show girl garments to create the rhinestone bikini. This painting was created on a 24 by 12 inch canvas.

Here’s an experimental piece I did of someone I appreciate ❤️. I was gonna hold off with a painting of myself, until a lovely woman told me “What’s body by jade without herself?

Acrylic and rhinestone painting based on one showgirl from Rio de Janiero's Carnival. This was a customized piece dedicated for the customer's white and grey interior bathroom. Painted on a 20 by 10 inch canvas.

The title was inspired by the song "Como La Flor" by Selena. This piece captivates a flower-like showgirl. This was a customized piece by a customer who wanted the theme of luxury and mother nature. Green acrylic and rhinestone collage with faux petals on a 24 by 12 inch canvas.

I created this customized piece for a fashion professor as a thank you gift.

Inspired by the incoming summer season, I created this piece inspired by the summer sunset.
Surrealism
Est 2018

Combining femininity and space was the focus for this piece. Using multiple complementary color palettes, the painting conveys a fun scheme in an elegant manner.

When I was younger, I have always enjoyed watching jellyfish at the aquarium. I like to think of them as the fishes of the ocean, because of their slow swimming form. I used that inspiration in this piece to create a calm scene of the ocean's evening.

As a scorpion sign myself, I wanted to use that as the center piece for this painting. I included orange and blue because it is one of my favorite color palettes. The title of this piece was inspired by the playing of words since they sound similar.

During my senior year of high school, I wanted to express my love for dancing. Growing up with Ecuadorian and Dominican families in New York City, different types of dancing was taught to me. From bachata to cumbia, or break dancing to disco, I was inclined to include those examples. Since dancing is a delightful activity, I assembled this collage piece to have a fun color scheme. This would help carry that exciting feeling that dancing brings. With the absence of facial features, I wanted the viewer to fit themselves in the collage.
Inside Jade's Sketchbook
Est 2017

While observing Italian architecture and summer swim suits, I decided to combine both ideas. I illustrated myself to envision my future vacation of visiting the countryside of Italy.

With the idea of spa and bathing, this warm up drawing practices my enjoyment for self-care.

This self portrait was created for my drawing course during winter '21. I used themes to portray myself throughout the sketch. The scorpion represents my zodiac sign, Scorpio. My Yankees hat represents my first home and favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees. The dark sweater and white puffer vest represent my 'on-the-go" outfit.

This etching print was inspired by "the Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli. I used aquatic elements such as seashells, seahorses and the ocean. This is a print press made glass printing and ink.

This was a quick night sketch, that I completed during the April lockdown.
